FAQ’s

Here are some of the more common DJ FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions):

Q: How much are your DJ / lighting packages?

A: Each package is different and tailored to your needs, so please contact me with as many details as possible and I will give you an unbeatable value quote!

Q: Can we come to see you before we book?

A: Yes you can of course! Contact me to find out where I am playing next. (I will obtain permission from the couple / client beforehand). Alternatively, we can meet for tea and a chat before your big day, or you can just book through email. It’s up to you!

Q: When should we book you?

A: As soon as possible! Summertime and holidays (Christmas, bank Holidays, etc.) tend to fill up fast. I can’t hold any dates without a deposit unfortunately.

Q: My band offers a DJ service, so I don’t know if I should book them or a separate DJ?

A: Most of the top bands do not double up as DJ’s after their set. Instead they hire in (or simply recommend) dedicated separate DJ’s. If you are unsure what your band is offering, just ask them. If you are offered a DJ add-on, be sure to go and see them to make sure it is not just a band member with an i-pad, as you don’t want to end the night on a bad note. Usually hiring a separate professional DJ is a similar price to what the band offers, and guarantees the most suitable equipment for the job, he/she will be experienced in judging what the crowd want to dance to, and will bring fresh energy to the party. All professional DJ’s will have a seamless transition from band to disco. If you are unsure which option to go for, please play it safe and get in a professional!

Q: Can we make song requests?

A: Yes you can indeed! You can send on special requests before the day (important for first dance/ last dance, etc.). You can also tell me your favourite type of music or artist and I will do my best to work them into the night as much as I can.

Q: Can our guests make song requests?

A: Yes of course! I happily take suitable song requests (once they will suit the crowd). I also offer song request cards to place on tables to encourage interaction (no extra cost but only on request).

Q: Can we give you a list of songs to avoid playing?

A: If you want to. Some people have a couple of songs that they really dislike. Try to avoid writing an extensive list of popular songs though, or you will just have guests requesting them!

Q: What kind of ‘safety nets’ do you have?

A: Firstly, I only use new high quality equipment to reduce the chance of any malfunction. In addition, I always carry backup equipment, so the show will always go on! For added peace of mind, I carry full public liability insurance (required by some venues). No matter what supplier you are getting, make sure they have these fall back plans. The show must go on!

Q: What other services do you offer?

A: In addition to Wedding and Party DJ services, I also offer full room uplighting, custom monogram lights, a fun new photobooth, wedding ceremony, drinks reception and meal music/sound.
